Hi, I am new to the touchscreen games so I hope I come across ok.
Is the Midway Infinity related to the Midway Touchmaster?
I have a TM8000 with version 9.02MN dated 3/17/00 is this the newest
release?
I have played games such as Crystall balls, and Hothoops on a Midway
Infinity and it looks and plays much better than on my TM8000. It
almost seems like my TM screen is CGA, and the Infinity is SVGA. Is
there anyway I can upgrade my machine so it can play like the
Infinity, or is there a hardware limitation (like screen res).

Thanks for your help

You are not alone. I have a few of the 8000 and much to my disapointment
you are right. It is a CGA on the 8000 and a VGA on the infinity. You
would have to change the tube out. They do have a upgrade for the Infinity
that is selling right now made by Happ. Costs $1000.00 but includes a
camera and has internet build into it. Look it up at Happcontrols.com I
don't know if it would be worth it to change out the tube but let me know if
you pull it off. Someone just broke the screen on one of mine with a beer
bottle so I am thinking about trying the upgrade.

I did see the Ecast upgrade on Happs website, but It looks like it
doesn't upgrade the monitor, just the innards. To me It would be a
shame to have a Internet ready tabletop that has a CGA monitor! Do
you know where I can get a tube?

Now that I look closer, the Crystall balls on my machine isn't the
same as on the Infinty (the overall look isn't as good, the bottom
touchbuttons are closer together, the ball transition is not as
exciting as the Infinity's Crystall balls. Its looks like a first
generation game, and the Infinity has the latest gen.

Mabye my question should be: Can I upgrade my TM to an Infinity?
arghhh!

Thanks for your help.
